On my wish list

Yes, of course every girl has a wish list. Some monthly, other weekly, spoiled ones daily! After having a great week so far, well besides my colds which I won't get rid of for days, I had an interview for the paramedic apprenticeship at the Red Cross which I was craving for and immediately got accepted. Oh it's such a great feeling knowing what's going on with your life in the next two years. No more head breaking nights, no more worries and no more confusion. And a step closer to med uni!
I had an other interview today, too. But I want to keep it as a surprise, so I'll tell you  more next week if everything goes well.

After having such a great day, I've been thinking of what to treat myself with next time after accomplishing a next tiny life changing step.
Good mood kinds of keep me inspired....
duffle coat - asos // nail polish - YSL // purse - acne // mat lip stick (shade 201) - YSL // filler - Kaweco

An other good mood maker is the band HAIM - three cool sisters from LA.

Have a nice evening!

Chanel Rouge Allure & Poudre Signée de Chanel

Oh YES! TODAY I was finally brave enough to buy the Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick (40 la sensuelle). I've been waiting for MONTHS to get this wonderful matte lipstick but I was always  afraid of spending my money as I sometimes become a REALLY stingy person in certain situations, well actually it just suddenly happens that I don't even dare to touch my purse. But whatever happened to me today, I came home with about 80€ lesser in my pocket.
This always happens when my intention is just in going window shopping and then all for a sudden I come home with a bag full of stuff I usually would keep on my wish list for months before I actually buy them or mostly never buy it and just keep the stuff in my mind.
I guess it was my good mood I've been having since yesterday. Work's going great and my creativity is on it's maximum. I went to the shop just to try out the new See by Chloé perfume (which BTW immediately landed on my wish list), went upstairs to look for some more perfumes and figured out that I got lost in the store (all the perfumes were down and all the beauty product were upstairs) and thought "aah whatever I'll stay upstairs and try out some make-up". AND THEN it happened! I fell in love! With this wonderfull LIMITED highlighting powder Poudre Signée de Chanel. It cost me a hell lot of money but I definitely don't regret any of my purchases.
...After surviving loads of work and hard days, you should allow yourself something and see it as your credit for the hard work you've done...

Enjoy your day and spoil yourself once in a while!
Love,

& Other Stories

COS as sister company of the Swedish label H & M isn't enough. No, another sister has to bee born suggested the H & M-manager Samuel Fernström who has been working on the label Other Stories since 2010. And soon the day will come when little sister & Other Stories will open the doors of the stores in Europe's seven fashion metropolises London, Berlin, Stockholm, Paris, Barcelona, Milan and Copenhagen. The store openings are planned to be this Spring, approximately in May.
According to Vogue's German January Issue '13 the style of Other Stories will be a mix of both bohémian and minimalistic. More valuable in quality than COS but as low priced as H & M.
The first showrooms have been opened to give a first view of the SS '13 collection.
Well, I guess not only I am excited to see the first collection but also you. I wonder if  Other Stories and COS will be competing due to similar clientele.
But beside casual women's ready-to-wear  Other Stories will also bring out a variety of beauty product, accessories and shoes which in turn will differentiate Other Stories from some of the regular women's fashion stores. As far as I've seen, Topshop is the one low priced fashion label which also concentrates on beauty products. I just hope Other Stories won't set the focus only on clothes but will instead find a balance between fashion and beauty. We will see...

Don Jon's Addiction

As I mentioned in my last post, I attended the film premier of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's movie Don
Jon's Addiction starring Scarlett Johansson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt himself.
The actual release of the movie is the 10th October 2013 for that reason I was really excited to watch the movie so early and the most exciting thing about that evening was of course the presence of  Joseph Gordon-Levitt who is one of my favorite actors since I saw 500 Days Of Summer with Zooey Deschanel.
The Premier was at the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin. A huge theater with a capacity of almost 2000 seats. The atmosphere wasn't the regular movie night atmosphere. Because it was the premier most of the people in the audience were workers and co-workers from the Berlinale and their relatives. So most of all there were people from the movie business which luckily kept the atmosphere formal and classy. Before the movie started Joseph Gordon-Levitt held a short speech posed a bit for all the thousand people with their cameras (me e.g. ...haha).
The movie was great although I'm not sure if I would watch it again. I do think thath Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a really great actor but I mostly like him in characters as Tom Hansen in 500 Days Of Summer which is the total opposite of Don Jon. And I don't want to ruin my perfect image of Joseph Gordon-Levitt. But anyways great Job Joseph!

Enjoy your weekend,

Event: 63. Berlinale

Since last Tuesday there's been the annual film festival Berlinale going on here in Berlin. And since I've been living here, I of course get more in touch with this event. Especially through my friend who's one of the interns working for the Berlinale and who's housing during the event at my place.
In every corner of the city you can see the big colorful placards with the "Berliner Bär" which is the symbol of Berlin. This picture was taken last friday before my friend and I went to the premier of Don Jon's Addiction by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. It's one of the offices of the Berlinale at Potsdamer Platz. The festival started on the 7th Feb and is going on until the 17th Feb. If you want to get tickets to the movies you have to be really quick. So far as I know most of the movies have already been sold out since Wednesday, but if you're just interested to see some of the short movies or documentaries, there might probably still be some few tickets to buy. So bee quick if you're interested to get a tiny bit of "Berlinale flair".

Have a lazy Sunday,

Blog: Tonstudio17

This is probably more something for my German readers. Or also just for people who like reading, speaking German or looking at German words. Well it's definitely something for people who like listening to both old-fashioned and new-fashioned music.
This is Tonstudio17, a music blog by a guy from Berlin who loves listening to music from generations which were long before his own birth. But I think a lot of young people now a days are a tiny bit influenced by dad's or mom's music taste.
I haven't been surfing through many music blogs yet, but it's definitely my first time to find a blog which luckily doesn't only show all of these "new-comer-after-one-hit-never-again-comer" hipster bands which all look a like and all sound a like.
But of course, what is a music blog without new-comers. But the fun of comparing the oldies with today's music is unfortunately fading away slowly. Thanks to Tonstudio17 which reminds us that everything new develops out of something old.
So if you are craving for new records and if you're wondering what they sound like, follow out Tonstudio17 and you'll find it out.

Michael Kiwanuka

Oh boy, he has a great soul... It's been a while ago when Michael Kiwanuka released his first record "Home Again" (March 2012). I'm sorry for not discovering this young (24 yrs old) talented soul musician, but of course it's still worth it posting about him.
Michael Kiwanuka is a soul musician who is signed to Communion Records, grew up in North London and son of Ugandan parents. After completing his A-Levels Michael studied Media, Arts & Design on Westminster University. His first EP "Tell Me A Tale" was then released on the 24th of April 2011 and 11 months later he released his first album "Home again".
His music has acknowledged influences from musicians such as Bill Withers, Otis Redding, Jack Johnson and has played with James Gadson, who drummed for Bill Withers.

Madewell looks

Happy Sunday everyone. Haven't checked out Madewell's site for a long time. Just a while ago while sitting beside my room mate being lazy in the couch after having heavy dinner.
So spring is soon arriving and I love spring collections. It's been too long ago wearing bright colors light materials and trying out playful combinations. Unfortunately it will still take a bit time 'till the weather here in Berlin will  allow us wearing such fashion. But it's also OK just combining clothes in my imagination while waiting for the sun and spring heat to come to Germany. I think Madewell is a big inspiration and it's fun checking out their new looks.
Here are some of my favourites.

Do you like them, too? What are your spring fashion inspiring designers?

Enjoy your sunday,
