RANDOM: How to pack for a weekend trip

As I mentioned in my last post, I'm heading off to Lübeck today to spend my weekend there. I actually got pretty sick this week but I just can't stand the thought of spending my whole free weekend being sick in Berlin so I rather suffer on the 4 hour train ride until I reach one of my lovely home towns where I definitely will feel better than here.
I just finished packing all my stuff. Well it wasn't a lot cause I'm only away for two nights and I've got towels, toothpaste, shampoo etc. over there. I only packed some few warm sweaters and a pair of jeans and some undies cause it will for sure be a bit colder up there than here.
I use my The North Face Flyweight Rucksack Travel Pack which I love so much. It's just the most practical rucksack ever for short weekend trips like this and I actually bought it after moving to Berlin cause I knew that I will be spending all my free weekends in Lübeck anyway.

It's my first time to take all my camera equipment with my so I was kind of frustrated cause I don't have a proper camera bag which doesn't look like a huge lunch box and I didn't know what to do. Then I remembered that I recently purchased a clutch from & other stories which was designed by Alyson Fox. It perfectly fits into my handbag and I can keep all my camera stuff in there.

So the packing is finally done and I'm now ready to go back to the north. Can't wait to reach home again and be fed my momma and dadda.

PLACES: A weekend in Flensburg (out of Berlin)

After five months I finally visited Flensburg again. While visiting this lovely seaport right by the danish border in the north of Germany for my first time I actually didn't expect this town to be so beautiful. With a population of only 90,000 this is a great place to spend your weekends when you're tired of the big cities (like Berlin). I had a long weekend (4 days) which is luxurious for me since I've started working and studying at the same time so for that reason I took the opportunity to get out of the big city jungle and calm down for a while spending time with a special someone enjoying the harbor and the togetherness being lazy all weekend long. Friday afternoon we spend time brunching at the historical harbor eating the most delicious "Fischbrötchen" (Sandwich with fresh fish, bread and veggies) and drinking one of my favorite German beers "Flensburger Radler"(well north german beer which is 50/50 beer and soda that mostly women drink it cause men think it's not manly enough).
The next day I got to see the farmer's market which takes place every Saturday and I think Wednesdays or Tuesdays, as well. It's located in the center of Flensburg on the market square. Well you actually can't miss it cause the town is not that huge that you would get lost (which I sometimes really enjoy due to constantly using Google maps when I'm home in Berlin). It's a great place to buy your fresh groceries. But I recommend you to do your shopping in the early afternoon when the vendors reduce their prices to almost 50 percent. So that's of course what we did!
So Saturday evening was cooking time. Well more precisely it was pizza and visitor's time. Having some visitors coming over and creating a freshly prepared and self made pizza dinner for four (without candle light). Couldn't decide to have either white or red wine so we just decided to get both.

The days definitely went by waaay to fast and I'm now back in my busy Berlin. It was like having a short holiday trip which is needed once in a while. Next weekend I will be going to Lübeck which is an other town in north Germany by the water as well. You'll hear from me by then or maybe earlier, I'll see.

"Springtime Carnivore was born on the night of a full moon in the summer of the year of the dragon. She is the seventh of twelve siblings. Her father was a painter and her mother baked wedding cakes. Her favorite color is turquoise. Her favorite food is purple Pez. In a past life she slept beneath the stars in far away Western places and died in a gun fight with Annie Oakley.

Following high school, Springtime Carnivore joined a traveling circus company. She was a talented and nimble acrobat but her career was cut short by a tragic tightrope accident. “We had been traveling for days trying to maintain our schedule and we were all sick and tired and lonesome,” she recently wrote in a letter to her fans. “One night during a show in Twin Falls, Idaho, my energy was all used up and I made a misstep on the tightrope. Long story short, I fell three stories and broke my fibula.”

Although the tightrope incident killed Springtime’s big top dreams, it opened the door to another dormant aspiration. “While my poor leg was healing I discovered an old piano in the attic of my great great grandma’s second’s cousin’s third husband’s house. I dusted it off, paid a blind man to tune it by ear and I’ve been playing ever since. Inside me were all these songs about all these things I’ve seen and all these places I’ve been. Just came pouring out like tears."

MUSIC: The Numero Group

Looking for good music can be very difficult. Especially if you're a really choosy person who has already heard a various amount of music which just didn't really hit you. But if you dig into the former music collection from which our today's music is inspired of, I'm pretty sure you'll find something you will like. Always in search of new music you have never ever heard before is not as easy anymore as before, so why not just listen to what you are not looking for. Yes, I mean the music which nobody talks about anymore. The music development of the 20th century is what I'm talking about. This period is from where all our today's music comes from, so forget all the new genres which try to be unique and individual, these are just copies from already existing genres anyway. So if you're already becoming curious you've got to know the Chicago record label Numero Group. This Illinois record label mainly releases compilations of previously released albums which deserve to be recognized more. This is their mission:

"The mission was simple: to dig deep into the recesses of our record collections with the goal of finding the dustiest gems begging to be released from their exile on geek street. No longer would $500 singles sit in a temperature-controlled room dying for a chance to be played. No more would the artists, writers, and entrepreneurs who made these records happen go unknown and unappreciated."

Interior Inspiration II

These pictures found on yellows.dk are such a great inspiration for those who love clean white interior. It looks so great when everything's orderly, structured and when the colors match and look warm together due to really cool earthy tones.

Oh how I love Sundays!

 Just by thinking of Sunday makes me feel relaxed. The past weeks have been full of too much work. For sure you know that feeling when you wake up on a Monday morning and the first you think of is how nice it would be if it was Sunday morning again and you could stay in bed the whole morning with a hot cup of tea. Well, that's how I was feeling like the past 3 weeks. I've got one week more full of work until it's my time, too to enjoy my holiday or let's better call it three less stressful weeks with not so much work. While roaming around my flat today having nothing to do than lying in bed with my laptop I found this wonderful song of the danish duo "Quadron". Check out more of their songs!

Besides of that I was cleaning my hard disk deleting a bunch of useless stuff on my laptop and found these very inspirating pictures of a Madewell collection I can't remember anymore. But I think the're really nice and I love the color combination and dicided to keep these pictures as a great outfit inspiration.
