DIY-Collar

Finally I found some time so sew again!
Today I'm gonna show you how to sew this simple accessorie step by step.

 You need:
- any kind of stiff non-elastic fabric in your favourite color
- paper
- transparent paper
- a pencil
- a pair of scissors
- a messuring tape
- pins
- yarn
- a hook
- a needle
- tailor's chalk

STEP 1
- messure the width of your neck and draw a pattern of how you want the shape of your collar to be (those were my messurements which are ideal for everyone, I think)

 STEP 2
- Use the drawingn which you made in step 1 to make a pattern of your collar on the transparent paper

 STEP 3
- cut out the pattern

 STEP 4
- pin you pattern to the back of the fabric so it wont move
- mark your pattern TWICE! at the back of the fabric whith your tailor's chalk

 STEP 5
- now cut out both of the pieces of your collar by following the line

 STEP 6
- be aware that the pieces have to be symmetric (of course you can also sew an asymmetric color, but don't forget that the other piece of your fabric hat so be mirror-inverted!)

 STEP 7
- now lay the front side your fabric on eachother and pin them together
- sew them together as near as possible to the edge

 STEP 8
- dont't forget to leave out a small gap in the dewing so you can invert the collar
- don't sew them completely together!

 STEP 9
- after you have sewed both pieces together you should invert the collar though the small hole
- then sew the hole together by hand
with very fine stitches

STEP 10
- now sew the hook to both ends of your collar with tiny stitches

STEP 11
- fiiiiniiiiiish!
I wish you so much fun designing and sewing your own collar.
Love
