DESIGN: Bi.cycle.up coffee & bar - Da Lat, Vietnam

This is really a special place in Da Lat, Vietnam which you shouldn't miss out. Da Lat (population: 188,500) is a town in the highlands of south Vietnam with a lovely influence by the French who brought the coffee culture to Vietnam which has now become the second largest coffee exporter next to Brazil. Da Lat is surrounded by coffee plantations and so is the town full of wonderful coffee shops. If you want to try the amazing local coffee beans you should visit my favorite coffee shop on this entire planet called "Bi.cycle.up".
Bi.cycle.up was opened 1,5 years ago by Indy and Bi who discovered this hidden shop. This lovely Vietnamese couple decided to open Bi.cycle.up after having asked by their friends why they don't open a coffee shop. So that's exactly what they did. Bi studied architecture and Indy studied business so they have the best combination together to open up a coffee shop. They love to recycle old material such as vintage furniture, old LPs, books, bicycles or an old bathtub. They use the local coffee from the nearby coffee plantations and also sell smoothies made of fresh local fruits from the market. Try their delicious hot chocolate and if you're lucky they will also have banana cake sometimes.
The name Bi.cycle.up comes from Bi's name and cycle because they like to recycle and up stands for uprising, like the sun. They like bicycles so they combined the words together to Bi.cycle.up.

Interior Inspiration II

These pictures found on yellows.dk are such a great inspiration for those who love clean white interior. It looks so great when everything's orderly, structured and when the colors match and look warm together due to really cool earthy tones.
Love it.

Mixed bracelet bunch

Oh where has my motivation gone? Sometimes there are days when you just want to do nothing. Just hang aroung in your bed with with your favorite person, listening to your favorite band or watching your favorite series. Recently I've deeply fallen into this phase, but I'm slowly getting out of it. As a motivation and also just to get around town, I rode my bicycle to the other end of Berlin to this lovely shop called Kauf Dich Glücklich in the Kastanienallee, Berlin and enjoyed the lovely weather, the delayed start of spring. As in one of my first posts "delicate bracelets" it's obvious how I love thin bracelets. So after a long long time of searching for the right bracelets I got myself these ones and to cure my cold I got myself some lemon green tea, too.

Have a lovely monday evening!

Disco fevaaaaa

As you saw in my last post I've got myself some stuff from & Other Stories which I've just tried on today. I've been looking for a silver nail polish for months! After giving up unsuccessful retrievals I coincidentally run over what I've always been looking for. Such as this case! Silver nail polish with minimum sparkling (I hate sparkling glitter at the moment). And there it is and this is how it looks like. Btw. great combination with black.

Cheerio,

Spring's arrived, it's bicycle time.

Yes, it's 8°C in Berlin and it's sunny and the snow is gone! So now you can definitely say it's spring. Which means it's time to take out your bicycles, give them a quick check-up and then hop on it and take a ride through the lovely weather. I myself have started last Monday. It feels so great riding your bike everyday after have spending time and money in the boring tubes all winter long.
Check out these fancy bicycles! Love the red one.
This one is from Creme. Called "Caferacer"  - Check it out here

Christmas Card Time

Tomorrow it's already December and there're only 24 days left until Christmas. Woow, it's makes me so exicited. I've finially got a day off from work which I urgently needed. Working 10 hours a day, 6 days a week really makes you mad sometimes. So today I used my day to practice the piano and to prepare little x-mas goodies for my best friends. I just finished doing the packaging of the presents which I have to mail my friends and right now I'm working on their Christmas cards. Aren't they pretty? I just used a bunch of old magazines, and papers. When I need to write cards I never buy them!! I think that's so unpersonal so I prefer making them myself. It's much nicer recieving a self-made greeting card no matter if  it's ugly or not, it's far better than just getting one at the next shop you find.

I hardly recommend to drink marzipan tea during cold winter days to keep you warm and cozy. I love this flavour and the sweet smell making you feel warm while making Christmas cards.

Warm greetings to all of you winter lovers!

Architecture: Weekday's new store design

Gonzales Haas Aas, Pierre Jorge Gonzalez and Judith Haase, is an architecture duo located in Berlin who first met eachother in New York while working with the legendary Robert Wilson.
One of their new projects is the new design of the Weekday store in Neue Schönhauser Straße, Berlin. The store concept is both functional and contemporary and is about assembling elements and not about expensive handcraft furniture but low-cost materials. A new element are big high-tech LED screens which are the only colorful ones in the new Weekday store design. The idea of these screens was influenced by the LED screens on airpots which are used to communicate information about the arrival, departure, gate nr., etc. The screens will define zones from different brands and a piece created by Frédéric Teschner, a graphic designer based in Paris who was invited by the architecture duo and and Weekday themselves to not forget the importance of culture which is an essential part of the concept.

Shwood: Experiment with Nature

Just discovered these fancy sunglasses created out of wood.
Shwood is known for their in Portland, Oregan handcrafted wooden eyewear.

"A simple experiment with nature. Born from the limb of a Mandrone tree, a rusty pair of cabinet hinges, and lenses from the corner store, Shwood has been a curious endeavor from the beginning. An endeavor to create a product that encompasses the individuality and uniqueness that can only be found in natural surroundings. A desire to experiment with design, materials, and aesthetics in the search for something that works. Free from passing trends, the brand’s focus remains that of its roots, innovation and creation. Long live creativity." - Shwood
